Fire Course Content
Basic Fire Suppression (468hrs. min.) is the Building Block of the fire service.
- The curriculum has been developed by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection to meet the objectives set forth in NFPA 1001: Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications
- In Texas, the basic structure fire suppression examination covers several different NFPA subject areas, including Fire Fighter I (NFPA 1001), Fire Fighter II (NFPA 1001), HazMat Awareness (NFPA 472) and HazMat Operations (NFPA 472).
- Upon successful completion of the our course and the TCFP (Texas Commission on Fire Protection) written and practical examinations, application may be made to receive IFSAC (International Fire Service Accreditation Congress) seals for Fire Fighter I (NFPA 1001), Fire Fighter II (NFPA 1001), HazMat Awareness (NFPA 472) and HazMat Operations (NFPA 472).
- Requires minimally a ECA (Emergency Care Attendant Certification) for State Certification
